ASSESSMENT OF STUDENTS' MATHEMATICAL MODELING COMPETENCES: CASE OF THE TOPIC OF TRIGONOMETRIC SYSTEM IN GRADE 10

Abstract
The paper presents some fundamental concepts as the basis for building an assessment criteria scale of mathematical modeling competences, such as mathematical modeling competences, component skills of modeling competences, a rubric in testing – assessment, and modeling perspectives in the teaching of the trigonometric system in the current textbook “Geometry 10.” At the same time, the paper also proposed a criteria scale to assess the modeling competences in the topic of the trigonometric system and then the application of this scale for one specific problem. Finally, the survey results on teachers and experiments on students show the feasibility and effectiveness of the built assessment criteria scales.
