Trong bối cảnh du lịch bền vững ngày càng được chú trọng tại các điểm đến có giá trị sinh thái và lịch sử đặc thù, vai trò của cộng đồng địa phương ngày càng được nhấn mạnh trong quá trình phát triển du lịch. Côn Đảo là một quần đảo biệt lập về địa lý nơi giao thoa giữa du lịch sinh thái lịch sử và tâm linh do đó đặt ra những yêu cầu riêng đối với hoạt động giao tiếp với du khách quốc tế. Nghiên cứu này phân tích vai trò của tiếng Anh cộng đồng trong phát triển du lịch bền vững tại Côn Đảo từ góc nhìn của các chuyên gia và những người trực tiếp tham gia hoạt động du lịch tại địa phương. Dữ liệu được thu thập thông qua phỏng vấn chuyên sâu với mười lăm người tham gia bao gồm nhà quản lý du lịch địa phương chuyên gia di sản và các thành viên cộng đồng. Kết quả cho thấy tiếng Anh cộng đồng không chỉ là công cụ giao tiếp mà còn là nguồn lực văn hóa giúp cộng đồng chủ động diễn giải giá trị địa phương.
