Detemining attenuation coefficients of gamma rays in range of energy from 81.0 keV to 1764.5 keV for some materials

Abstract

In this work, we determine the linear attenuation coefficients of different samples by using the HPGe detector with the gamma rays in the energy range from 81.0 keV to 1764.5 keV emitted from point sources, including 133Ba, 226Ra, and their progenies, 214Pb, 214Bi. The results show that the linear relationship between energy to the densities of the samples. This investigation aims at establishing a database for further studies.
