DEVELOPING READING AND WRITING SKILLS FOR ARGUMENTATIVE TEXT FOR 11TH GRADERS THROUGH INTEGRATED READING AND WRITING TEACHING

Abstract
Integrated teaching has become popular in the world. The General Curriculum of language and literature defines that the main teaching principle is integrated teaching, demonstrated thorugh the design of learning topics, reading integrated with writing, speaking and listening. In Vietnam, up to now there has been no research on the integrated teaching of these four skills in the Literature subject. In this research we conducted an experiment on integrated reading comprehension and writing argumentative texts to develop reading and writing skills for argumentative texts for 11th graders, Ngoc To Highschool, Soc Trang province. This is case study research. Quantitatitve and qualitative research methods were used. The research result shows that argumentative reading and writing competencies of students in Ngoc To highschool have been improved.
