Abstract

The study aims at exploring the historical figure - Huynh Cong Mien and the character of Hai Mien redefined in the literary work entitled “Cau Hai Mien”, which was written by Nguyen Ba Thoi and Cu Hoanh Son. It can be seen that it is the combination of the historical figure and fictional character that creates a complete and interesting character widely known by the public. Therefore, the distinction between real situations and fictional details in literary works seems to be insignificant to today’s readers.
