SPIRITUAL ACTIVITIES AT BA CHUA XU TEMPLE IN NUI SAM MOUNTAIN, AN GIANG PROVINCE AND THE EXPLOITATION OF TOURISM SERVICES

Abstract
Spiritual activities in Vietnam clearly show its culture and traditions through daily life and community festivals. The exploitation of spiritual activities for tourism has been going on for a long time, but there still exist many issues to consider. The paper presents the research results surveying visitors’ views on spiritual activities in Ba Chua Xu Temple (An Giang) and on solutions to the preservation and promotion of the cultural identity in spiritual activities for tourism development.
The results show that more investment is required for the spiritual activities in Ba Chua Xu Temple including preserving and repairing facilities to maintain operations and attract tourists. To preserve cultural values in spiritual activities there, the paper also proposes a number of measures such as: upgrading infrastructure, raising people's awareness, improving professionalism in management, construction, and tourism promotion...
