DESIGNING INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT FOR MUSIC THEORY COURSES
Main Article Content
Abstract
During the last few years, interdisciplinary teaching has become a popular model of teaching in Vietnam, especially for Natural Science or Technical Science. However, for some ‘peculiar’ majors as Arts, especially Music, this teaching approach has not been rigorously studied, discussed, and implemented yet, which has led to some problems in designing assessment activities and tasks for related courses in Music Theory. Within the scope of this article, some sample music theory tests from prestigious testing agencies all over the world are introduced and analysed based on the Bloom's Revised Taxonomy. The analysis helps to identify all necessary levels of thinking. Some suggestions are then offered to design tests for Music Theory in line with the teaching approach.
