Abstract

 

 

One of educational reforms in Vietnam is the promulgation of Standards for Teachers in 2018 and the 2018 General Education Curriculum. These reforms have significantly impacted primary teacher training, especially practicum in primary teacher training. This article analyzes the importance of supervising practicum and innovations required for the practicum: how to assess and update the objectives and the learning outcomes of practicum, how to innovate the contents of the practicum and evaluate students based on the Standards for Teachers, how to innovate the structure of practicum (more and regular with primary schools). This study will contribute to renovating primary teacher training, improving the quality of training in pedagogical universities, and meeting the requirements of the educational reforms and social requirements.
