Abstract

 

A device, which used a microcontroller ESP8266 to measure time, distance and force by photoelectric gate, distance sensor VL53L0X and force sensor, is reported. This device can provide highly precise time, distance, and force measurements with relative errors of less than 1.6%, 4.4% and 3.6%, respectively. This device is functionalized with several measurement modes. Data is acquired and illustrated on a designed graphical user interface on personal computer via wireless Bluetooth communication. This device can be utilized in teaching mechanics, e.g., kinematics, dynamic or oscillation, in the General Education Curriculum of Physics 2018, which is aimed to develop students’ competencies.
