ERROR ANALYSIS BY VIETNAMESE STUDENTS ON THE CHINESE “YUE A YUE B” STRUCTURE

Abstract

 

 

Based on the Vietnamese Chinese Interlanguage Corpus, the article explores the acquisition of the structure “yue A yue B” ( A B) among Vietnamese students. In general, there is no significant difference in the use of “yue A yue B” ( A B) among different Chinese levels (elementary, intermediate and advanced). The errors Vietnamese students committed can be divided into three types: semantic errors, syntactic errors and confused errors (and). Among the three types, semantic errors and confusion errors are two main types of errors with the highest percentage. Based on these results, this article recommends that teachers, when teaching students the structure “yue A yue B” ( A B), should focus on the comparison of Vietnamese and Chinese language, use more grammatical exercises, diversify the activities to practice the structure, and pay attention to the recurrence rate of this structure.
