LEARNING GAMES TO DEVELOP COGNITION FOR PRESCHOOLERS OF 5- 6 YEARS OLD IN THANH PHU, TAN DONG, TAN TAY KINDERGARTEN, THANH HOA DISTRICT, LONG AN PROVINCE

Abstract
The article presents the results of research on the development of cognition for preschoolers of 5-6 years old through organizing learning games in Thanh Phu Kindergarten, Tan Dong Kindergarten, Tan Tay Kindergarten, Thanh Hoa District, Long An Province. The study aims to identify the causes of the current situation and then suggest measures to help develop better cognition for the preschoolers. The result show that the majority of teachers understood related theories and patterns of cognitive skills for the preschoolers of this age. However, they did not know how to apply those knowledge in their teaching so that they can help these preschoolers achieve the outcomes predefined for this age by the Ministry of Education and Training. Teachers also did not know how to build a play environment, including how to organize, guide, and evaluate children in a child-centered approach.
