SOME THEORETICAL ISSUES OF EMOTIONAL EXPRESSION THROUGH DRAWINGS

Abstract
The article applies the action role model theory in folk tales of A. J. Greimas in researching Southern novels in the early twentieth century. The source domain derived from the concept of actor (acteur) and character role (actant) to reflect the access to the target domain are the types of characters expressed in each specific genre of the Southern novels in the period. The characters could be heroic, lustful, misunderstood, lured, or revenge character. The article focuses on the types of lustful character, the main type of the characters in Southern novels of that period. The paper will then discuss the meaning of this character in the dawn of the Southern novels (in particular) and Vietnamese novels (in general).
