TRAVEL WRITING AND DEBATES

Abstract
Travel writing today has become a global cultural phenomenon. Along with the public's interest in this genre, there is an increase in the academic studies of the topic. In these studies, it can be seen that there are still many conflicting views about the issues of travel writing such as terminology, concept, genre boundaries, and fictional nature of the genre. This article explores two controversial issues of the travel writing genre: terminology and concept and fiction. The paper also discusses a different definition of the concept of travel writing and explains the fictional nature of travel writing. This article will provide a more comprehensive view of documents associated with great discovery journeys of human beings which is not yet extensively researched.
