Abstract

The introduction of new textbooks in the 2018 General Education Program has brought many opportunities and challenges for textbook writers, educational administrators, teachers and students. Having access to different sets of textbooks at the same time requires the book selectors to have an overview to see the unique advantages of each textbook series. This paper approaches three sets of Literature textbooks designed for the 6^th grade students according to the General Education Program in Vietnam in 2018 from the perspective of comparing and evaluating the system of Vietnamese practice exercises. The research results show that there are some differences among three sets of textbooks, such as in the order of arrangement, the focus of Vietnamese knowledge and the ability to meet the requirements of the General Education Program in Literature. The paper provides a general to detailed view of the Vietnamese exercise systems in three sets of Literature textbooks designed for the 6^th grade students so that the localities and schools have more bases to evaluate and select textbooks to suit their educational needs and goals.
