THE IMPACTS OF INTERNATIONAL SANCTIONS ON CHINA-NORTH KOREA MERCHANDISE TRADE AND TOURISM INDUSTRY RELATIONSHIP DURING THE PERIOD OF 2017-2019

Abstract
This article presents the impacts of international sanctions on China-North Korea merchandise trade and tourism industry relationship during the period of 2017-2019. Using document analysis and secondary data. The article examines the changes in trade and tourism data between the two countries since the United Nations increased sanctions on North Korea. The research showed that China and North Korea have had a flexible and closer trade relationship to adapt to and overcome the economic damages caused by sanctions. North Korea is also promoting its tourism potentials. Based on the result, appropriate policies are proposed to help North Korea develop a self-reliant economy.
