AN ANALYSIS OF THE NOVEL GIA DINH BE MON BY DA NGAN FROM THE FEMINIST THEORY
Main Article Content
Abstract
Da Ngan is a female writer who has significantly contributed to literary innovation since 1986. The author is very successful and created a deep impression with works written on family topics. It can be said that Da Ngan's compositions have focused on the images of female from the feminist theory. In this article, we present a literature review of research from the feminist theory and the theoretical framework for the study. From the theoretical basis, we analyzed Da Ngan's novel “Gia dinh be mon” (Little Family). We focused on three aspects to analyze and clarify the feminist traits of the work: voices of resistance about war arranged marriages, the voice that fights for the right to personal happiness and finally the voice that instinctively unleashes the woman.
