TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN ASSOCIATION WITH WETLAND CONSERVATION: CURRENT STATUS AND SOLUTIONS FOR SEA AND ISLANDS IN VIETNAM

Abstract

 

In the context of wetland depletion, sustainable tourism development associated with wetland conservation is a strategic direction to meet the goal of wise use of wetlands. The main method used in this study is document analysis on wetland tourism and conservation. The research results indicate the oriented perspective of combining tourism development and wetland ecosystem conservation, clarifies the status and challenges of tourism activities in association with the conservation of wetlands in Vietnam’s sea and islands. Based on the results, some orientations and solutions are proposed to develop tourism associated with the conservation of coastal and islands wetlands in Vietnam.
