THE ART OF CREATING NARRATIVE SITUATIONS IN UONG TRIEU’S SHORT STORIES AND NOVELS
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article studies the types of narrative situations in Uong Trieu’s short stories and novels: the omniscient superior, empathetic heterodiegetic narrator, and expressive homodiegetic narrator. These types of situations are used relatively evenly which shows the diversity in the author’s narrative experiences. That diversity is harmonic with the narrative content and literary intentions. At the same time, it is consistent in a writing style that delves into the inner self and discovers the nature of man in history as well as contemporary life. As a result, we believe that Uong Trieu is one of the brightest candidates for the career of “creating the top” of Vietnamese literature in the future.
