AMERICA POLICY’S ADJUSTMENT TO THE MIDDLE EAST UNDER THE PRESIDENCY OF DONALD TRUMP
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article focuses on analyzing the adjustment in the US policy towards the Middle East under the Donald Trump administration (2017 - 2021) with respect to specific issues such as unilaterally withdrawing from The Nuclear Deal with Iran, giving ground from Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, as well as making risky moves in border clashes culminated of Israeli-Palestinian. The results of the study showed that despite possessing the consistency in strategic goals with his predecessors, aiming for the "America First," the changes in the Trump administration's approach to Middle East issues which reversed from multilateralism to unilateralism, has put a profound impact on the US position and role in this region. Although the method and scale of involvement have been adjusted, the outcome for the settlement of problems in the Middle East remains unchanged, and the situation of violence and disputes between the parties are still going on. Strategic contradiction is the main feature of the content of American foreign policy.
