CHARACTERISTICS OF RIVER CULTURE OF PAINTING IN THE MEKONG DELTA BETWEEN 1954 AND 1975

Abstract
The article clarifies some basic issues of river culture and its features in the Mekong Delta region, which is clearly expressed in the paintings of the period from 1954 to 1975. This is a period that has been considered a turning point in the history of the formation and development of regional painting. Thereby, the writer defines the relationship between river culture in this region and the subject of creation from the perspective of the art of painting. The study of painting has so far remained qualitative, so the article aims to explain the relationship between the values of culture, history, characteristics, and identity of local culture affecting the painting compositions, suggesting some basic expressions of the characteristics of Mekong Delta river culture through artworks. The article also affirms the unique artistic value of the region's painting in Vietnamese painting as
a whole.
