Abstract

New conceptions of writers' artistic notions about humans in the literature during the renovation period (after 1986) have significantly contributed to the renewal of the country. The artistic conception of man in the novel The Flying Swallow is mainly expressed through two expressions: (1) Humans are seen from his personal life, affairs, and personal tragedy; and (2) Humans are explored from a multi-dimensional perspective. Expression (1) is shown through the character's physical, mental, and human pain. Expression (2) is generalized through the inconsistency between people and the community, and human nature. The article observed that works written about people in war not only exploit the essential characteristics of people but also bring philosophies about people.
