Abstract

Social skills are essential for students in the learning process and in life. Currently, many forms and resources support students in practicing social skills, such as videos, brochures, handbooks, etc. This study explores the current situation of students' need to use social skills’ handbook. Simultaneously, three skill groups were chosen to guide students to practice in this study: social awareness, social behaviour and communication, and social adaptation. This article employs a quantitative research method, surveying 406 students. The results show: The importance of social skills in all areas of activity, students’ interest in the three groups of social skills, and students' expectations regarding the form and structure of the handbook.
