CHALLENGES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION TO THE RISE OF NATIONALISM IN THE XXIST CENTURY

Abstract
The impacts and changes of the world have brought many challenges for the European Union in the XXIst century. In the first twenty years of the century, many events challenged the cohesion and the process of building and strengthening the EU, such as the public debt crisis, the immigration crisis, and Brexit. Consequences of these movements led to the problem that the EU did not want to expect from the very beginning of the union –the rise of nationalism and variations in the modern world. Based on the data collected, theoretical analysis of nationalism, history – logic, and international relations, this study will address the changes in the political life of Europe through Brexit and the rise of nationalist political parties in member countries.
