Abstract

Tribulus terrestris L. is a medicinal plant commonly used in traditional medicine, recorded in the Vietnam Red Book and the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species on the critically endangered (CR). This paper studies the sterilization ability of HgCl2 and NaClO with different concentrations and times on Tribulus terrestris seeds and the effects of IBA and BA on germination and seedling morphology under in vitro culture conditions. The results showed that with NaClO of 1% for one minute, the sterility rate and the survival rate of the samples both reached 100%. For HgCl2 of 0,1% concentration in 20 seconds, the sterility rate reached 66,67%, and survival rate reached 80%. They were the most optimal result. In the MS medium supplemented with NAA and BA, the time germination rate and seedling morphology had many changes. Germination in vitro of Tribulus terrestris was suitable in environmental conditions supplemented with BA at a concentration of 2,0 mg/L, IBA at a concentration of 1,0 mg/L, and a combination of IBA and BA at concentrations of 0,25 mg/L IBA and 0,5 mg/L BA.
