THE SYMBOL OF SWING IN HEO NANSEOLHEON’S COMPOSITIONS: THE INTERCULTURAL PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

 

This article serves two main purposes. Firstly, the article introduces the biography and the compositions of  Heo Nanseolheon, a prominent female author of the Joseon Dynasty (Korea), to Vietnamese readers. Secondly, the article focuses on examining the swing symbol in Heo Nanseolheon's poetry from an intercultural perspective. Based on analyzing the meanings of the swing symbol combined with the analysis of the Joseon Dynasty context, the article will figure out her unique interpretation of feminine beauty and explore the intercultural relationships across Eastern countries such as China, Korea, and Vietnam.
