DIFFICULTIES IN APPROACHING STEAM EDUCATION OF STUDENTS MAJORING IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Abstract

 

This study aims to assess difficulties in approaching STEAM education for students majoring in Early Childhood Education. The survey results of 130 second and third-year students majoring in Early Childhood Education from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education show that most students had difficulties in approaching STEAM education during their university years. Simultaneously, there is no difference between second and third-year students’ perception of these difficulties. Based on the results, the paper offer several suggestions for students, lecturers and pedagogical universities to overcome difficulties and develop educational awareness, skills, and improve conditions for approaching STEAM.
