TRAVEL LITERATURE FEATURES IN NGUYEN DE’S ENVOYS’ POEMS

Abstract

The envoys’ poetry of Nguyen De is an important part of the diplomatic poetry of the Tay Son Dynasty. The article approaches Nguyen De's poems from the point of view of travel literature to find out the characteristics of travel journals. It was found that Nguyen De's poems featured travel literature in the aspects of traveling, realistic content, historical inspiration, and documentary information. Writing on history, geography, economy, culture, and customs is a rich and reliable source not only for literary studies but also for interdisciplinary studies.
