ONLINE TEACHING PROCESS BASED ON ASSESSMENT FOR LEARNING: A CASE STUDY OF RATIOS AND PERCENTAGES IN SIXTH GRADE
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this study, we propose an online teaching process with free versions of Google's platforms based on “assessment for learning” (Assessment Reform Group, 2002; Hargreaves, 2005; Ministry of Education and Training, 2020b) and “mistake is knowledge” (Brousseau, 2002). This process was then applied to teaching ratios and percentages to 6th graders in line with the Vietnam 2018 Mathematics Curriculum. A total of 67 students joined the study with 2 online lessons (45 minutes each). Each student was assessed with a pre-test and post-test by two sets of questionnaires with 12 tasks. The results showed that students scored significantly higher in the posttest, indicating the effectiveness of the proposed online teaching process.
