Abstract

In 1945, Nguyen Binh spearheaded the process of gathering, unifying, and proceeding to build and develop the armed forces in Southern Vietnam to meet the pressing demands of the revolution during that period. This article examines how the armed forces in Southern Vietnam from 1945 to 1951 were progressively unified, consolidated, constructed, and rapidly developed in both quantitative and qualitative terms. The research findings demonstrate that it was the dynamic, creative, and proactive revolutionary leadership in the early implementation of training, coaching, building, and developing the revolutionary armed forces by Nguyen Binh and his colleagues that enabled the resistance in Southern Vietnam to achieve numerous successes, making a significant contribution to the overall victory of the Vietnamese people in the initial years of resistance against French colonial forces. The robust development of the Southern Vietnamese armed forces during this timeframe highlighted the pivotal role and contributions of Lieutenant General Nguyen Binh, a talented and virtuous military leader who became the first lieutenant general of the Vietnam People's Army.
