Abstract

As a contemporary Western ideological trend, posthumanism reveals the intrinsic relationship between the humanities and social sciences with science, technology, and futurology. Employing a non-probability sampling method, this article identifies the fundamental and essential theoretical issues of posthumanism to elucidate the characteristics of posthumanist criticism. Additionally, the study outlines the historical development of posthumanist thought, aiding in distinguishing terms and concepts that have yet to achieve complete consistency within posthumanism. Consequently, it clarifies the various aspects of posthumanist interpretive practice through selected research samples within the realms of literature and art, particularly electronic literature and cinema. This research process leads to the delineation of posthumanist criticism's approach and interpretive dimensions. Therefore, this study suggests possibilities for further integration of interdisciplinary literary research in Vietnam today.
