Abstract

The article focuses on understanding the world of ghosts in the short story collection The Girl in Blue by Nguyen Quang Thieu. With a new and unique approach, Nguyen Quang Thieu has created a world of diverse ghost images. Sometimes ghosts appear to fulfill unfinished aspirations and passions. Sometimes ghosts return to earth to repay favors or take revenge. In general, those mysterious ghosts are real people with different emotions, personalities, and destinies. Through ghost images, Nguyen Quang Thieu can convey a humane message about life, as well as philosophies about life and death.
