Abstract

Implementation of quality assessment of lotus soils in specialized cultivation areas of Phu Yen province was carried out from January 2022 to May 2022. Collected 100 samples of lotus growing soils in Dong Hoa town, Tay Hoa district, Phu Hoa district, Tuy An district of Phu Yen province. Soil samples were treated and analyzed for physical and chemical criteria according to the current TCVN on assessment of agricultural soil quality. Research results show that lotus soil in specialized cultivation areas of Phu Yen province has a relatively high density (average 1.23 g/cm3), low porosity (49.86%); on some chemical properties such as: OM, Ntotal, SO42- contents are quite good; the contents of CEC, availlable K2O and Ca2+ are at medium level; porosity, pH (KCl), availlable P2O5, Mg2+ are at poor level; the exchangeable aluminum content is at a safe level for the growth of plant roots. The results show that the limiting factors in the lotus soil environment of the study area are density, pH, Mg2+ and organic matter content.
