TAOISM – BUDDHISM – CONFUCIANISM IN THE HISTORICAL NOVEL, EIGHT DYNASTIES OF LY KING BY HOANG QUOC HAI

Abstract
This article discusses the ideas of Confucianism – Buddhism – Taoism in the historical novel Eight Dynasties of King Ly by Hoang Quoc Hai. The author described in detail and vividly the role of three morality streams that had strong influence in the formation of the ideological structure of Dai Viet culture, they are Taoism – Buddhism – Confucianism. The Ly Dynasty found the most optimal characteristics of the morality streams as the basic orientation for building and developing the society, which are Confucian society – Buddhist spirituality – Taoist nature. Confucianism contributes to organizing an orderly and strictly disciplined society. Buddhism adjusts humans to become peaceful, kind and give up rapacity, selfishness, and stubborn hatred, to move towards enlightenment. Taoism orients humans to survive according to nature. Through the literary work, readers not only see the writer's contributions to the development of Vietnamese culture but also have theoretical significance for preserving the values of traditional spiritual culture.
