Abstract

In competency-based education, reliable data on students’ collaborative competence is essential for educators to design effective strategies that enhance cooperative learning. This study proposes a self-assessment scale for measuring collaborative competence among secondary school students by comparing tools and structures of collaborative competence from various studies. This study proposes a self-assessment scale for collaborative competence among secondary school students, developed through a comparative analysis of existing frameworks and assessment tools. The scale was validated through two rounds of testing, including reliability analysis using Cronbach’s Alpha and Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) with SPSS software. The final version of the scale comprises 3 components with 15 behavioral indicators: Participation in collaboration activities (7 items); Social regulation (4 items); and Task implementation management (4 items). The results show that the scale is reliable and appropriate for use with secondary school students in the Vietnamese context.
