Abstract

Hartree-Fock (HF) calculations using the effective Skyrme nucleon-nucleon interaction are widely used in nuclear structure studies. In this work, we investigate their applicability to low-energy elastic scattering. The optical potential obtained from the mean-field HF calculations with the Skyrme interactions SkM* and SLy4 are used to calculate the phase shifts and scattering cross sections for neutron scattering on the 16O nucleus. The results demonstrate the capability of this approach in identifying low-energy resonances.
