INVESTIGATION OF INHIBITORY EFFECT OF NANOCARRIERS ENCAPSULATING CLOVE, MUSTARD, GARLIC AND LEMONGRASS ESSENTIAL OIL ON BOTRYTIS CINEREA
Main Article Content
Abstract
The fungus Botrytis cinerea is a major pathogen responsible for gray mold disease affecting the branches, leaves, and fruits of many crops, leading to significant yield losses. This study aimed to evaluate the antifungal efficacy of mustard, garlic, lemongrass, and cloves oils both individually and in combination, in nano-encapsulated form under in vitro conditions against B. cinerea. Essential oils (mustard, garlic, lemongrass, cloves) were first encapsulated into nanocarriers, then their antifungal effect was assessed using a petri dish assay. The results demonstrated that the combination of garlic and mustard essential oils exhibited the strongest inhibitory effect against the fungus under in vitro conditions.
