Abstract

This article is based on the SAM (Successive Approximation Model) and the actual needs of students majoring in Chinese language to establish a system of exercises for Chinese idioms. The GUYU website provides knowledge content on Chinese idioms as well as a section for knowledge consolidation, including five types of exercises: exercises that connect idioms with their corresponding meanings, exercises to find matching idiom puzzles, exercises using idioms to form sentences, exercises to choose the correct answers, and exercises to complete passages using idioms. Additionally, the GUYU website offers other features such as a search page and flashcard page to support students in learning and practicing Chinese idioms more easily. Finally, to ensure objectivity, accuracy, and scientific validity, we conducted surveys and tests to evaluate the website's effectiveness, thus proposing specific measures to improve the website in the future.
