USING CANVA SOFTWARE TO DESIGN FLASHCARDS FOR TEACHING THE TOPIC 'HUMANS AND HEALTH' IN THE NATURAL AND SOCIAL SCIENCES SUBJECT AT THE PRIMARY SCHOOL LEVEL

Abstract
Teaching aids play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process in general, and in particular, in teaching the topic "Humans and Health" within the subject Science and Social Studies at the primary level. Among these aids, flashcards featuring vivid and visually appealing images not only support students in acquiring knowledge more easily but also help foster their interest in learning. Canva is an online design platform integrated with various artificial intelligence (AI) tools that enables teachers to easily create flashcards for instructional purposes. This paper introduces the Canva platform and its integrated AI tools used in flashcard design, analyzes the role of flashcards in teaching Science and Social Studies at the primary level, and proposes a step-by-step flashcard design process for the topic “Humans and Health,” accompanied by illustrative examples. This process aims to support primary school teachers in effectively designing and using flashcards, thereby contributing to improved teaching quality and aligning with the requirements of the 2018 General Education Curriculum.
