Abstract

Court literature, particularly Nguyen Dynasty court poetry, was a cornerstone of medieval Vietnamese literature, distinguished by its unique expressive artistry, especially when approached from the perspective of verbal characteristics. This study employs systematic, comparative and structural analysis methods from a cultural-historical perspective, to explore the poetic language of the Nguyen Dynasty court. Key characteristics include the use of thematic word systems tied to class distinctions, scholarly and concise language, and expressive diction reflecting the unique imprint of individual poets and author groups. The analysis highlights how these verbal characteristics shape the distinctive aesthetic of Nguyen court poetry, enriching its cultural and literary significance.
