Abstract

Interlibrary cooperation plays a pivotal role in optimizing information resources and enhancing the quality of education and scientific research in the current educational context. This study was conducted to evaluate library connections at seven universities of education in Vietnam. This study used a mixed method to survey different stakeholders and interview 64 library staff. The results indicate that some universities have participated in interconnection activities and information resource sharing; however, these activities remain fragmented and lack coordination. Advanced forms of cooperation, such as catalog sharing, interlibrary loan, or integrated shared databases, are still very limited. From these findings, the study proposes key strategic solutions to establish a sustainable interlibrary cooperation framework, enhancing access to and exploitation of information resources, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education and research at universities of education.
