Abstract

The article examined the current status of digital information and data literacy in learning activities among students at the Faculty of Physical Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. Data were collected through a survey of 98 undergraduate students. Theresults show that students have developed a moderate to high level of competence in accessing and utilizing digital information and data, including identifying information needs, searching for learning resources, using and sharing information. The results suggest that students have become increasingly proactive and flexible in engaging with digital technologies and online learning environments. Many learning activities, such as preparing electronic lesson plans, searching for instructional videos, citing references, and sharing learning materials for groupwork, were reported to be performed more frequently and effectively. However, several areas require further improvement. Students demonstrated relatively limited competence in evaluating the credibility of information, managing and storing data systematically, creating new content, or applying information to research activities. This is important evidence for the University and the Faculty in designing and implementing strategies to enhance students’ digital information and data literacy, thereby supporting more effective learning and academic development in the future.
