Abstract
The ability to exploit information and digital data plays a key role in improving the quality of students' learning. The formation of this ability helps ensure that students' learning process is proactive, oriented and linked to the practical requirements of the training industry. Given the importance of the ability to exploit information and digital data, the study was conducted to assess the current status of the ability to exploit information and digital data in learning activities by surveying 98 students studying at the Faculty of Physical Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. The research results show that basic competencies such as identifying needs, searching for documents, using and distributing information have developed relatively evenly, proving that they have been more proactive and flexible in accessing technology and online learning. Many learning activities such as preparing electronic lesson plans, searching for technical videos, citing documents, or sharing group learning materials have been performed regularly and received positive reviews from lecturers. However, some specialized competencies such as assessing the reliability of information, managing and storing scientific data, creating new content or applying information to research have not yet achieved high efficiency. This is important data for the School and the Faculty of Physical Education to propose solutions to develop the capacity to exploit information and digital data in students' learning activities in the coming time.
