APPLYING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN PRIMARY TEACHER EDUCATION: EVIDENCE FROM VIETNAMESE LANGUAGE TEACHING METHODOLOGY COURSES

Abstract
In recent years, the rapid development of artificial intelligence, together with the digitalization of education, has brought about profound changes in teacher education. For undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Primary Education, particularly in Vietnamese Language Teaching Methodology courses, access to and application of AI not only support innovation in instructional practices but also contribute to the formation and development of professional competencies associated with digital competence. This paper focuses on clarifying the theoretical foundations of artificial intelligence. It also proposes several approaches to applying AI in organizing learning activities and professional practice through the design of learning products such as posters, photobooks, infographics, and slides with the support of AI tools, including Canva, Prepik, Prezi, Kling AI, and Mentimeter. These applications help enhance learning experiences, promote the development of digital competence, and improve students’ ability to apply technology in the teaching and study of Vietnamese at the primary level.
