Abstract

The study area is located in Ninh Binh province, characterized by a relatively small river basin, mainly belonging to the Day and Hoang Long river systems. The rivers are short and flow in a northwest-southeast direction. There are two seasons here: the rainy season and the dry season. Using Pearson correlation coefficient analysis, it was found that rainfall and river water levels in the study area have a positive linear relationship in both the rainy and dry seasons. In the dry season, the correlation coefficient varies from 0.039 to 0.30. In the rainy season, the correlation coefficient varies from 0.39 to 0.70. The correlation between rainfall and water level is stronger in the rainy season than in the dry season.
