Literary works in An Ha newspaper

Abstract
An Hà báo [An Ha Newspaper] (1917-1933?) was a newspaper published in Can Tho, one of the few newspapers in the Southwestern region of Vietnam. Readers could find information on economic, cultural, and social topics, especially literature. Despite not being the main focus, literature was appealing and showcased the creative abilities of contemporary writers. Important genres of modern literature could be found in An Ha Newspaper, such as poetry, reportage, essays, play scripts, short stories, and novels. This article examines the authors and their literary works, particularly of the novel genre, and their contributions to the modernization of literature and the social development of Southern Vietnam in the early 20th century.
