Abstract

The production of biomass from Bacillus licheniformsis B1 was investigated in submerged fermentation. Optimization of culture medium was carried out by using response surface methodology (RSM). The B1 biomass production was also significantly affected by dextrose, soya, CaCl₂. In addition, while the optimum cultivation parameters were (g/L): 44.026 of dextrose, 34.025 of soya and 3.491 of CaCl₂, the prediction of biomass production of B1 was 6.05 x 10⁹ CFU ml^-1.
