Abstract

 

Appendix A of the Common Core State Standards defines the text complexity for English language arts and literacy. By analyzing somefactors suchas the type of text, the readers, and the purposes of reading, this article identifies the contents to be adjusted and supplemented in terms of text complexity for Vietnamese Language Arts and Literature. The paper also proposes a particular way to choose texts for teaching reading comprehension as well as provides some teachers guidance to assess this subject.
