Abstract

Achievement emotions are defined as emotions which are directly linked to achievement activities or achievement outcomes. Four positive emotions (enjoyment, hope, pride, and relief) and five negative emotions (anger, anxiety, hopelessness, shame, and boredom) are assessed by using The Achievement Emotional Questionnaire, Vietnamese version (V-AEQ), adapted from The Achievement Emotional Questionnaire (AEQ). Students' emotional experiences were studied in the three most important types of achievement situations at university (class-related, learning-related, and test-related emotions). The sample was 651 students in southern universities, Vietnam. The results show that students have high positive emotions, moderate negative emotions, and higher levels of negative emotions among student teachers compared to other students in all types of achievement situations.
