DESIGNING A SYSTEM OF ERROR CORRECTION EXERCISES FOR FOREIGNERS IN LEARNING VIETNAMESE PERSONAL PRONOUNS
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this article, the authors design different types of error correction exercises for foreigners in learning Vietnamese personal pronouns, the error correction exercises focusing on inappropriate use of personal pronouns, on failure to recognize meanings of personal pronouns, on failure to identify the expressive meaning of personal pronouns, and on failure to use pronouns in correct pairs. This exercise system is based on the theoretical basis of error and the errors made by foreigners in learning Vietnamese personal pronouns, which were collected through a survey. The results indicate that error is one of the essential parts in learning language and the language errors of foreigners learning Vietnamese are no exception. The common errors in learning Vietnamese personal pronouns stem from the habits of using the mother tongue of foreign students or the complication of Vietnamese personal pronouns. Therefore, the system of error correction exercises will help foreigners to remember the semantic and grammatical features of this word class.
