USING PISA – BASED EXERCISES TO DEVELOP THE NATURAL SCIENTIFIC COMPETENCE FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

 

The new general education curriculum in Vietnam has science subjects to form and develop natural scientific competence of junior high school students. The designing and using the PISA-based exercises to foster the natural scientific competence for students aim at enhancing the quality of teaching in junior high schools. The article reports on the the process of building and using PISA – based exercises in teaching chemical topics. The article also presents the general knowledge of PISA, competence, the competence framework and assessment tools for natural science through PISA-based exercises.
