SOME ORIENTATIONS FOR TEACHING PROCESS-BASED WRITING TO MEET THE OBJECTIVES OF THE VIETNAMESE LITERATURE CURRICULUM IN 2018

Abstract

How to teach writing skills to help middle and high school students improve their writing competencies is one of the major focuses in Literature teaching. Through studying the Vietnamese Literature Curriculum in 2018 and synthesizing some documents about the writing processes in Vietnam and abroad, this article contributes to listing clearly the steps which learners need to experience in the writing process, including preparation before writing, planning, writing, reviewing, editing and learning from. The paper also analyzes the activities that learners need to perform in each step. The article then focuses on presenting specific orientations to teach writing to middle and high school students based on the identified steps. These guides may be essential for a Literature teacher in the design and organization of writing activities to meet the requirements of writing skills in the Vietnamese Literature Curriculum in 2018.
